Description
The Gerenuk, Grevy Zebras, Besia Oryx, reticulated Giraffe, and Somali Ostrich can be found only north of the equator in Samburu National Park, which is located in the 'northern frontier.' Lake Nakuru, famous for its abundant birdlife and home to the Rothschild giraffe and rhino, is an excellent place to stop as you travel from north to south. Finally, finish your safari in the Masai Mara, home to the big five and the incredible spectacle known as The Great Migration.
Detailed Day Wise Itinerary
Day 1 Nairobi – Samburu
Our driver/guide will pick you up from the airport/hotel early in the morning. After a short briefing, your road trip to Samburu National Park will begin in a 4×4 luxury tour cruiser. Arrive in time for lunch, and relax at the lodge waiting for an evening game drive.
The park is colourfully vibrant with semi-nomadic Samburu tribesmen. The great table mountain Ololokwe serves as the backdrop for the Reserve. Be on the lookout for a Lion, Leopard, and Cheetah for this drive.
DAY 2 Samburu full-day Game Drive
After breakfast, you will embark on a full-day game drive through the park with a bush picnic lunch. This game drive has a high probability of large herbivore sightings. Be on the lookout for the reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebra, long-necked Gerenuk gazelle, straight-horned Beisa Oryx, and blue-necked Somali ostriches, only found in this part of Kenya.You can also visit the neighbouring Samburu villages and enjoy their traditional dances, and skilful beadworks.
DAY 3 Samburu – Nakuru
After an early breakfast, check out, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. Have lunch in Nyahururu Town before continuing the journey.
Lake Nakuru National Park is a world-class “Bird Watchers’ Paradise.” The park is recognized as one of the world’s natural wonders, with the flamingos being the main attraction. It also offers sanctuary white and black rhinos and Rothschild’s giraffe among other big games.
DAY 4 Nakuru- Masai Mara
After an early breakfast, drive along the Great Rift Valley floor to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch, relaxing for a while before a late afternoon game drive.
For this drive, look out for the big cats often found lying under the trees. Herds of Zebra, elephant, buffalos and giraffes are also easy sightings.
DAY 5 Masai Mara Full-day game drive
After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for a full day of game viewing in this well-known national reserve. You will see thousands of wildlife species such as hippos in the Mara River, lions, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, leopards, various antelopes, and elephants. If you are lucky to visit between July to October, you will love witnessing the thrilling annual wildebeest migration.
DAY 6 Masai Mara-Nairobi
After breakfast checkout and head back to Nairobi. Drop off at the airport or your pre-booked hotel room in Nairobi
